Dear Bridget,

You are 7 months old today!
I would have sworn you were older, just in the last month you have become my little buddy.
You respond to things I do and say.
You make me laugh more than I make you laugh now.
Speaking of which, you have the cutest laugh and are very ticklish! You especially love when daddy tickles you with his beard on your belly.

You have a sassy little personality.

You LOVE to sing songs, it makes me giggle to see how much you love "the wheels on the bus."

You are a pretty good eater, we are up to 2-3 solid meals a day. You definitely prefer oatmeal & yogurt, and sweet potatoes & carrots. If there is something you don't like the taste of you gag until you spit up....stinker!

You slept through the entire night last night for the first time!!! I put you to bed at 9:30pm and I woke up with a wet shirt at 5:00am, oh my milk jugs were so heavy. I had to get up and pump and then check three different times to make sure you were still breathing. You slept for 11 hours straight!!!
FYI, now that I know you can do it I will be expecting it.

You have become very curious and I am amazed how much you can get in to especially because you aren't crawling yet.

You have three teeth, all on the bottom.
Although your top gums are bulging like a couple of teeth are going to bust through any day.
I am grateful you care about your oral hygiene:

I am so happy to have you in our lives. We thank God everyday for you and your sweet spirit. Can't wait to see what next month brings.

Love your guts,
Mom

Dear Bridget,

You know what's silly?
I haven't given any thought to how big you will be when you are born.
But then today a girl I work with had her baby and he was over 10lbs.
I guess you can be 10lbs if you want.... or you can be 7lbs.
How's your head?
I feel a little bad for you when I go to the bathroom because I have to lean over to make sure my bladder fully empties.
I imagine it's like I am stealing your pillow, that's the worst, sometimes I steal your daddy's pillow in the middle of the night.
Not on purpose.
But then he just gets another one instead of waking me up.
He's nice like that.

We pretty much talk about you all the time, you are our best friend.
But here we are down to hours, whether it's 24 hours or 200 hours from now... I'll be seeing you.

I love you.
Love,
Mom

**I would like some advice. What is the last thing you did / wish you had done / or will do before you have/had your baby as a "this-is-our-last-date-without-kids-ever" date?

34 weeks

Dear Bridget,

Guess what? I will get to hold you in my arms anywhere from 4-8 weeks from now. That's nuts. I love this anticipation thing, you are way more exciting than Christmas. I just can't wait!

So I was talking to your auntie Sarah the other day and she was telling me what your cousin Briggs is going to be for Halloween. And it hit me like a ton of bricks... You are going to be here for Halloween!!!!! That means we get to dress up! One of your mama's favorite things to do is dressing up. Do you know what you want to be? Not really on your mind yet? Ok, don't worry, I'm on it. I will come up with something great.

Are you getting big in there? People seem to think my belly is huge. Their exact words are: You look "like you're about to pop!" Then when I tell them we have 6 weeks left they act shocked like your due date should have been yesterday. I don't feel huge, I don't even waddle when I walk yet (well I do waddle when my bladder is exceptionally full, but I did that kind of waddling before you were in my belly.) Don't you worry Bridge, you just keep growing and we will show them what "about to pop" looks like.

I love you.
Love,
Mom

Dear Bridget,

My goodness girlfriend, talk about a mover and a shaker! And I LOVE it! I am pretty sure you have inherited your mama's booty because there is this little spot to the right of my belly button that is constantly sore. Sore like maybe someone is trying to get a little more room in a tight space and is using their bum to make that happen, and it's definitely bum size, not foot size. So did you notice how well we slept last night? That is because you have the best daddy in the whole world and he went and got us a body pillow! He willingly gave us the pillow even though he is now about one quarter turn from falling out of the bed completely. Isn't he the Sweetest? And guess what Bridgey? He is your daddy.
I love you,
Mom

Dear Bridget,

I would like to apologize for making you sit in the car for 5+ hours for 6 of the last 10 days. That was brutal, I know. Mostly because we had such a hard time getting any blood to circulate in our bodies. My feet swelled up to the size of Milwaukee, what about yours?

Guess what, the past couple days I have substituted for an Art History class and I just love it! I am an Art Historian, did you know? So I have been thinking (for some reason ever since you have come along I think a lot more) what will you want to be when you grow up? I hope you know you can be anything. But can I give you some advice? Find your passion, once you do it makes everyday exciting.

I love you little lady!

Love, Mom

My Dear Precious Angel,

I have some important business to discuss with you.
Your dad and I have talked a lot about what your name should be.
We take it very seriously because names are important, you will always have your name.

I am thinking you must have had some part in this naming business because it has been so easy for me and Dad to agree on what you should be called. So unless there is some divine intervention and an angel appears to me to tell me we need to change your name, you will be:

Bridget Jude Millar

We know you need a significant name, and girlfriend, this name is special! Your name is after your grandmother, your daddy's mom.
She is an incredible lady, one of the most nurturing women I know. She is the perfect example of unconditional love, she especially loves little children and is always surrounded by them.

Seriously little Bridge, You are one lucky lady, you have the best grandparents anyone could ever ask for... just you wait!

I love you.

Love, mom

Love Letter

Dear Sweet Baby Girl,

Just between me and you, I feel a little bad for Daddy. He loves you so much but he only gets to carry your picture around... I get to actually carry you!
I love all the time we get to spend together, we are inseperable.
Except for sometimes when I get really busy I forget you are there, so I am always so grateful when you give me a little poke or squirm to remind me to pay attention to you.

I hate to ask but will you promise to give me a little poke to remind me if I forget and get too busy once you are here?

And in return I promise that when you are a teenager and forget that you love your mama I will give you a little poke too.

I love you.

Love,
Mom
